CS1000p crossover mod

Hello, my next door neighbor wants to modify his cs1000p crossover and upgrade to sonic caps and mills resistors while the sale is going on.
I looked at the schematic on here for the speaker and noted we need the following caps
2 x 12.0uF (mylar)
2 x 16.0uF (electrolytic)
2 x 54.0uF (electrolytic)
2 x 480uF (electrolytic)
Whats the difference between electrolyte and mylar caps. Does soniccaps sell those 54uF and 480uF caps. If not what would be a recommended quality manufacture cap to buy for those?

Okay, I am the neighbor.
We have done some research and we are attempting to bring the CS1000p up to "current technology" and better match the modified SDA SRS's that I have. (In fact we plan on further mod's to the SDA's based off what has been written in the Polk Forums and when the PCB's become available.)
If we are successful with this upgrade, my plan is to tackle the FX1000's next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
Personally, I'd lose the electrolytics and mylar caps and go all film. Yes, it's more expensive, but in the crossovers I've upgraded like this, the results have always been stellar.
Also keep in mind that the reason the schematics specify the caps they do is for cost savings, not because those are necessarily the best caps for the job. It's just where Polk could get away with using them with the least impact. Again, film caps are your friend.Turntable: Empire 208

For the 12uf, I would use a Sonic cap. as for the rest, it's up in the air. I believe Sonic Craft also carries AEON caps, which if there is enough space, could be used for the 16uf and 54uf. As for the 480uf, if you wanted to go all out, you could use film caps, but they would have to remotely mounted off the board. Otherwise, I would consider replacing the electrolytic cap with a newer, audio grade electrolytic from Bennic, etc.., and bypassing it with a small film cap."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. reason why i put 2 x was I am an idiot.. I am so used to running the numbers for stereo speakers that I forgot that a center channel is not a pair.. HAHAHA. what a day.

Honest Mistake, but don't let it happen again.
I would follow Face's suggestions on this. Film is much better than Electrolytic. -
Robert is supposed to give Elliot a call and find out what he can do as far as the custom values. If we have to go with an electrolytic cap what value film cap should be use as a bypass for it?

Sounds like fun keep us posted.
Pics of the internals would be cool too.________________
