rca input on adcom amp-not working!!Please Help!!

ok the left front rca input(female) only work if i push down on the the rca(male) of the interconnect wire, while its plugged in....As soon as i let go it stops working.Really baffling me because the amp is less than a year old it looks brand new ...not one scratch on it ...all other channels work fine..i tested the wires they all work ...
What is the reason for this and is it something i can do myself. right now i have a zip tie around the male connector and then around the binding post directly underneath it ..so its good for the moment...its really bumming me out though ive only had the amp for less than a week ....

    Can you solder? If not should be a quick and cheap fix for someone who can solder.

    so take the top off of the amp and is the solder joint visible...its an adcom 7605....after the top is off just hit it with some solder and a soldering iron....do i need to prep it in anyway ....im gonna need someone to walk me through this...lol i love club polk by the way

    google maps says im about two hours away....i have faith in myself that i can take care of it...i am really good with my hands ive done some simple soldering...i just need some direction

    If it is like the 7500 you may have to pull the module out to fix it. Pop the top and you will see.

    Just pop the top. You'll see what needs to be done. Also make sure the caps are discharged. My GFA-7500 nailed me.

    So I'm going to radio shack today (its local) to buy a soldering iron.....any suggestions on what kind and also what kind of solder ....I'm gonna give this a whirl myself..like I said I have minimal soldering expereince in highschool but I do have experience with soldering copper pipes for plumbing ....so hopefully I. Can figure it out ...I will post pics before during and after ....any advice would be appreciated thanks guys and thanks again ben

    Don't use plumbing solder, use electronic solder. You can get that from Radio Shack also.

    just picked up a radio shack 20/40 dual heat soldering station ...pretty nice unit cant wait to play with it ....got some silver bearing solder too!!!!i love toys lol:biggrin:

    Good luck and remember never have iron on Printed Circuit Board as the heat can left the copper trace. You may wish to practice some first.
