M70 vs. TSi200, no brainer?
Unfortunately my next speaker purchase may come as a bit of a rush as a electronics retailer here in Canada has a decent sale on the M70's but the sale ends in about 12 hours and I have to go to work for 8 of those hours so I'm sitting here hoping when I do go in that they at least have some on display for me to test out. My fear is it's a clearance sale and they want to get rid of the old Monitor line so I might not be able to listen to them.
So... with a $20 difference between the two (keeping in mind with speaker stands the TSi200's would end up actually being more expensive), is it a no brainer to get the M70's?
I'll be powering them with a Pioneer 1018. Keep in mind this will be a 2.0 setup, no sub or center. Appreciate anyones input as I'm hoping to put the Bose 201's on craigslist as soon as I bring home a new set of speakers tonight

WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!!
M-70 are the cream of that crop. You won't be disappointed and the Pioneer 1018, if I'm not mistaken, is the model before Pioneer downscaled the 101X series. So it should have good power reserves for the towers. You're good!

Monitor 70, all day long,,,Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

yea the 70s for sure. If it was against the 500s Id say go with those, but hell the 70s are top of the line for the monitors, and still great speakers.Home Theater Setup

IMO, the Monitor 70's are better speakers than even the TSi 500's...
The Monitors have a cascade crossover that makes their midrange far more smooth and they image far better than the 500's. The sound stage sounds huge on the M70's compaired to the 500's. -
to each his own. I know a lot of people prefer them to the 500's. I got the tsi line to match my center, and got them at around the same price as i would have for the 70's.Home Theater Setup

I like the Monitor 70s better than any of the Reference Theater speakers I've heard. I just find them more musically pleasing, and they perform nicely in my home theater as well. Awesome for the little money they ask for.
