I love the hunt for vintage gear almost as much as the sweet sounds they produce. The hunt can be a cold mistress when you miss a great deal. In the last two days I missed a pair of Dynaco A25's and a pair of Monitor 12's that sold for $50 a pair. Do you feel my pain? Or is this just part of what makes the hunt so much fun?

^ I thought it was odd when I kept calling the same number simply labeled "larry" in my phone to get the same "sold" response... Oh well, I guess I will keep calling and see if I can beat someone to it next time...

No he is not... I knew it all along.
Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.

The other 2% will work for WalMart.

I like the free ones better, such as the nice pair of Allison Ones I picked up a few years back from the "swap pile" at our town dump (transfer station, more accurately speaking).

Either way, "chance favors the prepared mind."

I don't mind when they are already sold as much as when people never contact you back or break off contact halfway through the conversation. It's astoundingly rude.

The worst ads say Old Polks, no pictures no model and no phone number. OK great, you have something to sell but you don't know what it is nor do you want anyone to see it. You just want money.

Also when you make arrangement's to buy them tomorrow and find out half or all have been sold.
I talked to a guy who was selling some Rt-1000's and Fx-1000's for 300. The soonest he was available was 2 days later (a Friday). I called Thursday to get directions and the Rt's were sold.

I found if you pay retail for everything, you just don't have those problems anymore.
