Hi guys, I think I tried to get this question answered and it did not seem to matter or it's bee talked about enough.
While going back to 2-channel stereo I noticed that my Adcom gfa555 of course took inputs and also the pair of speakers.
My Onkyo pre-amp just accepts ICs. Now I'm looking for a different pre lets say a M-28 and this pre-amp accepts both inputs and speakers.
So is there any right way of hooking up your speakers either just through the power amp like I have it now or run them through the pre-amp.
Are there advatages to either of these methods does it make any difference at all.

The C-28 has what is labeled "Speaker Control Relay" which accepts speaker wire. However, I have no idea what that is for...

The speaker control relay allows you to switch between two sets of speakers from the C-28 front panel. The connection on the C-28 only carries the control signal for the speaker relay. It does not carry the audio signal. The C-28 output is via IC to the amplifier. The amplifier output goes to the speaker control relay input, and the speakers connect to the output terminals of the speaker control relay. Or, it can be hooked up in the usual manner with ICs from C-28 to power amp and speaker wires from power amp to speakers, without using a speaker control relay. Check a C28 manual at http://www.berners.ch/McIntosh/en/C28.htm
