I have the following rig:

Onkyo Tx-SR800
Fronts - RTi38
Center - CSi40
Surround - FXi30
PSW404

What should I set the volume and crossover of the sub too for movies...music???

The volume will be up to you. Try to get the bass from the sub to blend in with the bass from your mains if you don't have a calibration DVD and an SPL meter.

Use the subwoofer out on your receiver to the LFE input on your subwoofer. When connected to the LFE input, the crossover is disabled. The Onkyo receiver will have it's own fixed x-over. For music, I suggest setting your mains to "large" and "small" for movies.

The new S&V (Sept. 03) has an article that covers basic sub set up, as well as some reviews on subs.
