DVD Player with SACD capability?

I have been kicking around the idea of getting a new DVD player. I'm not looking to purchase anything high dollar just an average player. I've noticed that some of them have the capability to play SACD disks. Before coming to this forum a few weeks ago I had never heard of SACD. Is that something that is on it's way out or the coming thing for music CDs?
My system is primarily used for listening to music but I still want to be able to watch a movie now and then so I do need a DVD player since the old one has quit working. Should I select a DVD player that is capable of playing the SACDs?
Thanks for any information.

Yes. I do believe that there is a universal player in the FM now. Let me go check real quick.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Thanks for the info. I'm still not up to speed on the SACD format. Could someone enlighten me on the pros and cons of SACD please? Are disks still being produced in that format? I see they are more expensive. Are they worth the extra cost for a low end system like I own?

Wiki is your friend. Just look it up. Essentially SACD resolution is FAR superior (if recorded well, to most other digital formats) see Wiki chart below.
SACD is a disc of identical physical dimensions to a standard compact disc; the density of the disc is the same as a DVD and it encodes audio using a process known as Direct Stream Digital. The SACD sampling rate is 2.8224 MHz and the resolution is one bit. A stereo SACD recording can stream data at an uncompressed rate of 5.6 Mbps, four times the rate for Red Book CD stereo audio.[2] SACD recordings can have a wider frequency and dynamic range than conventional CDs.
CD
Format 16 bit PCM
Sampling frequency 44.1 kHz
Dynamic range 96 dB
Frequency range 20 Hz – 20 kHz
Disc capacity 700 MB
Stereo Yes
Discrete surround Never implemented
SACD
Format 1 bit DSD
Sampling frequency 2.8224 MHz[2]
Dynamic range 120 dB[2]
Frequency range 20 Hz – 50 kHz[2]
Disc capacity 7.95 GB
Stereo Yes
Discrete surround Yes
There are three types of SACDs:[2]
Hybrid: The most popular of the three types, hybrid discs include a Red Book layer compatible with most ordinary Compact Disc players, dubbed the "CD layer," and a 4.7 GB SACD layer, dubbed the "HD layer."[3]
Single-layer: Physically a DVD-5 DVD, a single-layer SACD includes a 4.7 GB HD layer with no CD layer.
Dual-layer: Physically a DVD-9 DVD, a dual-layer SACD includes two HD layers totaling 8.5 GB, with no CD layer. It enables nearly twice as much data to be stored, but eliminates CD player compatibility. This type is rarely used.Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

Thanks guys for all your comments. I will do a little research on which SACD player is in my price range and will keep the one in the FS forum in mind. I think a SACD player makes sense now that you guys have gave me enough information about it to help me understand what it's all about.

that 2900 is going to beat anything in that 200 price range unless someone is basically giving away another player.
