Speakers for PC

I am looking for good quality speakers for the Silent System of my piano (same requirements than for PC-speakers).

I do not find such items in the range of products of Polk Audio and I am surprise that it does not seem interest to get high quality speakers in this case, in spite of the fact that so many people listen to music on their PC.

Has somebody experience of products in this area ?

Best regards.

I thought the point of a silent system was so you could use headphones. Why not just turn the silent system off is you want to hear the piano instead of using powered monitors?

I use studio monitors for my PC (M-Audio) as I find most PC speakers too crappy to listen to music.

So if you didn't find any speakers from Polk that suited this need, why did you come onto the forum to ask? You already answered your own question... if one brand doesn't make it - go to the next brand. Seems like a big DUH to me.
    Main Surround -
    Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub

    Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

    Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD

Maybe he is a Polk fan and wants to give Polk a chance before he moves on to other brands, DUH... Polk use to make PC speakers, DUH...

    And they sucked...hardcore.

What chance is that, are they going to just come out and manufacture them tomorrow? If he needs speakers today or tomorrow, easier to hit up newegg and look.

" Why not just turn the silent system off is you want to hear the piano instead of using powered monitors? "
In such a case, one use the speakers with a low volume, much lower than the piano, and so, one does not disturb people of adjacent flats or rooms.

Thanks for this information, these speakers seem really very good. You have really good products in the USA. I have now to get them in Europe.

Nota: I am really a fan of Polk Audio and have wonderful Polk Audio speakers with my hifi system.

    Regards.

Jeez - a simple question and a bunch of bickering results. Part of the reason I rarely post anymore (yeah, don't everybody thank me at once, yadda yadda yadda :rolleyes:).

Anyway, ahem, I posted the very similar question here some years ago regarding computer speakers. And the kind people here had many useful suggestions then. Among them, Klipsch THX computer speakers, available in two channel and 5 channel (I believe) versions. I've been very happy with the 2 channel system I picked up.

Very reasonably priced on eBay (time to duck again :wink:).

    Out on this one, Chris

It's true that Polk just doesn't play in this space... at least not anymore and never at a hi-end level. It's tough to find good quality powered monitors if straight 2-channel is the focus instead of a multi-channel like some of the reasonably decent Klipsch or Logitech computer audio systems. A lot of people who just like to listen to music from their computers go with traditional power amplifiers and passive speakers, but it does sound like a powered monitor would be better for this application.

Swans appears to have a fairly broad dealer network, and they have an even smaller monitor speaker (the X4) that looks like it might be good for this. Here's their website: http://www.swanspeaker.com/

I am not too sure what any respectable audiophile would find intesting in any of the logitech products but as far as swan speakers, I find the M200MKII (http://www.swanspeaker.com/products/products.aspx?cid=5&sid=0&pid=24) kind of spiffy. The only draw back one is the salve of the other, I would much prefer if they had both their own personal control but that is typical computer speaker arrangement.
