Man, I tell ya'. While I have no clue what's going on in the rest of Polkland, weather-wise, Charlotte weather is postcard quality right now. The flowers are starting to bloom, the smell of a long awaited spring is in the air and the weather is flat out perfect for outdoor activities!

This has been a long and hard winter for many of you out there but the end is in sight if you don't know it yet. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Yesterday, I took my son to go feed the ducks for the first time in his 1 and 1/2 years on this Earth. He had an absolute blast. So much fun that my wife is out there right now doing it again for the little fella today.

Time to take the outside faucet protectors off and start the spring cleaning. First things first over here. Get that damned salt out from all the nooks and crannies on the truck and maybe pressure wash the outside of the house. I got an itchin' real bad to hit the pool as soon as it opens. We opened it up early last year, hopefully we can do the same this year. *fingers crossed*

What are the first things y'all are gonna do once weather like this arrives in your area?

Well now, Ben. If you still lived in Atlanta, I'm quite sure you'd be out back right now playing with your chicken again.

I'm working on getting back there soon as I can. Too much is up in the air here. I think I might get some RI Reds this time:smile: BTW my default weather location is home down in GA. I watch it to motivate me on getting back with my girls. I hope to see you, and any other Carolinian Polkies you can drag down in April.

Kids are a blast aren't they? Thats a cool story about the ducks.

Its almost always like that here so I try to celebrate it everyday in some way.

Today is a little golf (a little cold, only 58 for the high) after the Lakers beat the crap out of the Thunder.

    Enjoy!

you keep telling people how good we have it down south.

Just saw a report where atlanta will have 3MILLION more people by 2040.

we cant get around now, and the local and city governments are so corrupt, ignorant and unqualified, they cant even keep city services and schools running, city of atlanta schools have been caught in such a widespread cheatin scandal, it appears some high ranking officials will be facing serious charges.

The crime rate, stoked in large part by the homeboy hiphop industry, and the media who promote the degrading, violent attitudes in society, is out of control and many times the police union is implicated and sometimes caught working hand in hand with the thugs, just as they have for generations in new orleans.

And dont get me started on the humidity in the summer, and tornadoes, oh my god.

There, that should discourage some of the possible new york by way of florida retirement homes emigres to the n. ga. area.

Here in the Montreal area our OH SO FAMOUS crazy winters don't exist anymore. We have some kind of DOME over our area. Example...Friday evening they announced a "blizzard"..15 to 20 cm. of the white stuff... I think YAY..no need to trailer the snowmobile for over an hour to get some decent snow. Saturday morning comes around and they say no blizzard, and that we'll only get 5 cm. of snow. Guess what we got? A light "dusting"...just enough so that the cars get real dirty and you use up windshield washer like there's no tomorrow.

SO YEAH..let's get this crap winter over and done with!

It's a cold blustery day here in So Az. It snowed last night in Tucson, and this is probably one of the biggest tourist weekends of the year. We have the finals for the match play golf tourney and our big rodeo finals today, and to top it off NASCAR is running in Phoenix today.

I'm betting there's lots of people bitching about the cold today, and tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the 70's

Don't forget to include the church scandal with Bishop Eddie "Long-stroking" Long and the four young men that are suing him for sexually molesting them... and Bishop Earl Paulk and his crazy indiscretions. All these years his son thought he was his uncle... Damn!

Saturday in San Diego was cloudy, grey, windy, and wet.

Sunday cleared up and its a nice 68, sunny w/ just a bare hint of crispness to the air.

Got some lamb chops marinating for the grill and a nice French Rhone chilling for later.

Sitting on the back patio with some jazz playing....life ain't bad about now.

Here in Metro Atlanta, it is 80 degrees with a light breeze and lots of pollen in the air.

So you're saying we shouldn't come down. Personally, other than warmer weather...I'm not partial to humidity either but I need a certain amount to keep my skin from allergic reactions! But it doesn't hurt to plan a decade or more ahead. Retirement spots that are NOT Arizona or Florida, I'm considering, do include your city but only because I have very close friends and some family there (not #1 though). I also like Portland, Or., San Antonio or Austin and maybe a Colorado spot? Open to suggestions boys and girls. No hurry..lots of time left. But one things is for sure! Not going to retire in Maine! Endless black ice, no snow ever melts even when we have LESS than you guys in Conn and NY! And don't get me started about HEATING OIL prices!

Winter sucks when you've see two decades worth under Canada...even when there is NO snow or little snow. There is ALWAYS some SNOW and it lasts FOREVER! And the ROAD SALT consumes everything like the BLOB!

Spring? What's that? We go directly from almost spring, not spring, almost spring, not spring into summer!

It was beautiful in the low 80s today here in Augusta. Bradford pear trees are blooming everywhere. Dogwood trees in my yard are budding up. We keep this up and the Masters will be bloomed out by the first of April.

CNH, i was specifically speaking for us in the n. ga. mountains, where retirees are flocking here and trying their best to come up with new ways to complain about every facet of local life, traditions, way of living, especially any restrictions on where they can take their gorilla shorts wearing, white socks with black sandals asses and drink in public.

I gave up on atlanta 11 years ago, as a child it was like living in mayberry.

Now, many areas are more like being in the movie training day, with more traffic.

Up here its closer to seinfelds parents retirement community.......without the humor.
