Surroundbar and sub help

Hi could someone give me the benefit of their expertise please?
Equipment is Onkyo TXSR 608 (nightmare with Polk equipment) surrounbar 42, PSW 111 sub. I have got the LFE dial on the back of the sub set to 150 and the LPF of LFE setting on the reciever menu set to 120 (highest it can go) also the rest of the channels on the surround bar set to 120hz on the reciever, does this sound correct or not?
I have the sub connected by the 2 pre outs on the Onkyo. tried the SurroundB channels at full band on the reciever and it sounded garbage. Pleae help need to sort this out as keep playing with it and getting nowhere fast.

Any help much appreciated.

First, try using the LFE in on the sub, then the dial on the sub won't matter as you'll bypass all that.

Next, can you be a bit more specific on what the problem is? "Sounds like garbage" doesn't really give any specific symptoms that anyone can try to help with.

    Hi Quadzilla,

I dont know if i have the correct balance between the sub and the surroundbar. The crossover is the confusing part, i have all the channels on the surroundbar at 120hz and the sub set at 150hz. Do you think that this sounds correct as i have read that the surroundbar should be set at full band?
    Thanks John
