Hey all,
Got ahold of a pair of 5jr's (no passive) (ported)
Q: Need a 1.3ohm resistor. I forgot what values in parallel to come up with that value?
Q: this has the sl 2000. Is the rdo 194 a drop in replacement?

2.7 ohm paralleled with another 2.7 ohm gives 1.35 ohms total.

Yep, the 194 is it.

I was doing some research on my srs 3.1 tl's and they also used a 1.3 ohm, and seems to me I had to run them in parallel as well. BTW you do fine work and document your builds well. Thank you.

I hope these pics show what I mean, if they are poor in quality let me know. I do not imply that this upgrade will be difficult, just that it is different (no CB). Any comments or advice greatly appreciated.

Note: I do plan to upgrade to the rdo 194's.

I like point to point over a circuit board with a simple XO so no worries there.

BTW that will be cheap to mod with only a 12uf cap per speaker and 1 resistor Also 2 resistors in series can be used to get the proper value.

I have a pair of 5Jr's just like these that I updated recently. I used Dayton caps and resistors from P-express. I ordered 1.2's but they sent 1.5's. I was impatient and put them in anyway since I just use them for surrounds. Sound improved immensely, highs seem to be not as overwhelming as before. I have SL2000's all the way around in my 5.1 system. I do use Audessey on an Onkyo 807 receiver that integrates them very well with my SDA's in the front. Was worried about the tweets being toned down too much with the 1.5's but they work good for my application. I'm happy with them so far after a month of constant use.

The 5jr's were my first Polks... way back in 2006. They had great sound for what they were... and for the $15 I paid for them at a thrift store.
