The program is on the computer because I can open old "Word" docs but the icon for the actual program is no where to be found. It's not in the main menu, not in the Microsoft Office tools nor is it on the desktop. I cannot find it anywhere. Any idea on how to get it back?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12
Then find the WinWord.exe and right click on it. send to desktop(create shortcut) and you are done. From there you can drag it into your programs directory, or place it where ever you want.

I went to the C drive, then into Program Files but cannot find any WinWord.exe file.

What I did do was open an old file, clear out it's contents and save it as "Microsoft Word" and moved that shortcut onto the desktop. It works, for now anyway.

You have to go into a few more folders than just program files. I posted the full path above. Also it may be word.exe depending on version.

Was it labeled word.exe or winword.exe?
    I knew you could:smile:
