I had my gear in storage for the last few months and just couldnt take it any more. I went and got a few pieces and hooked them up this evening. The only place that I have to put the AVR (HK254)is on top of my subwoofer. Is there any reason that I should not do this?

Just thought I would check before i leave it there for a while.

Strap your head to the top of that sub for an hour and you will know why not.

Ohh ok. It is all about the vibrations. I don't normally listen anywhere near reference level so i thought it would be ok. I will just un-hook the sub and use it as a table for the time being.

    Thanks guys.

even at low levels.. not all loud bass can damage electonics.. low bass vibrations can too.

you MUST have some place else you can place your AVR right?

Not really. I put everything in storage because we are selling our house and we staged it to look bigger. I normally have an audio rack that everything goes in. It is either on top of a sub or in an enclosed cabinet that has 1/4 clearance all around.

Considering I have been using the TV speakers for a few months just having my AVR and the RTiA5's back is great. I think I can do without the sub for a little longer.

If you have a sealed symmetric di-pole sub, you can set anything you want on it. there are no vibrations.

I wish... I have a psw110. Once I get moved into the new house and settled, I will be getting something else. I have already turned off the sub and it is officially a table until I sell my house.

yeah, old TV repairs were mostly bad connections, and a good many of the broken tv's of the past were moved around while warm, so do the math, so to say
