Thank God we can share a little snow with our cousins in the US. The past couple years it has not been as hard on us here QC. I guess there has to be a good side of global warming. We are expecting 15cms by the end of today, it is presently -7 right now and hopefully it could get a little milder with the snow. Kind of odd to ear about snow in California but if that were to ease the load on Canadians, I don't mind sharing with the US and would hope this becomes normality, time to trade bating suits for tukes and skates, snow shoes etc.

High Sierra and Shasta Cascade experience some snow during the winter but IMO the remainder of California experiences fairly clement weather even in the winter, am I correct? I spent about 6 months in Vallejo and was in San Francisco just about every weekends and never seen anything that ressemble snow flake.
    Napa Valley Weather
No matter what time of year you choose to visit Napa Valley, you will find that the Mediterranean climate is without parallel. The, Spring and Summer months feature cloudless days and balmy nights, the Winter rainy season is relatively short and the Fall is so vibrant with color that you will be dazzled daily by the changes! Throughout Napa Valley, and especially in Calistoga, you will find al fresco dining, wineries, hiking, excellent shopping, spa treatments and lodging all within walking distance. There is no better climate in California to enjoy these countless activities. For current weather conditions and the forecast,

    That's right on the mark!

We've visited Hawaii several times and I love to hike up to the active Pu'u 'O'o gas vent of the main Kiluea Volcano and watch as it spews molten lava and TONS of gases into the air.

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions nearly doubled after the 1983 eruption began The large amount of sulfur dioxide released by Kilauea each day causes numerous problems including adverse health effects (headaches, fatigue, respiratory difficulties), vog (volcanic smog), and acid rain.

The Kilauea Volcano emits about 150 to 200 tons of sulfur dioxide PER DAY from the summit caldera and an additional 700 to 1,250 tons per day from the Pu'u 'O'o vent when in eruption.

This is a TINY volcano, but it has been spewing continuously, EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY, since January 3rd, 1983.

That's 1,400+ TONS (2,800,000+ POUNDS PER DAY) from one tiny volcano.

Then add in Yellowstone, other volcanoes around the world that spew every day, plus episodic events like Mount Saint Helens and Iceland's Eyjafjallaj?kull to name just a few.

Yeah, mankind is just such a vicious polluter

I wonder what caused the last Ice Age to end when there were just a few thousand humans, (and a few even knew how to build campfires) on the planet.

We wish we were that powerful, but it's a friggin' joke.

We should simply ban volcanoes, and ban the sun from burning out. They could have probably crammed a bill through by Sunday if we each emailed a few Democrat Congressman tonight . . . Oops, wait, last November fixed some of that.

Sorry I didn't quote my self I was quoted (by you) I go by my (small) personal experience in California. 6 months and not a flake of snow, that was cool but I guess it not always that cool.
Snowblower recoil start just broke and my 25X90' driveway has nearly a foot of snow on top of ice, so I'm headed out there with a shovel right now.
Got to get a snowblower with electric starter. Hopefully you are much younger than I to clear up that big driveway and lots of snow with a shovel. I hope the plaw didn't make a mess pushing a huge hard bank into your driveway
We got about 6 inches here in Indiana, and it's half melted already....
That is what I loved about British Colombia (there on the Queen Charlotte Island for 3 years). Rarely snowed, very minimal amount and gone within the same day.
Well, my wife and son joined in so the 3 cars parked out and the driveway are now clean . . . but it took 3 hours!

I wish I had a 6-car garage and heating coils under the driveway (and electricity at 1 cent per kwh)
Good on you, family teaming gets it done much quicker. I too wish I had heated driveway but I can just imagine the tab  and that even at Hydro Quebec cheap rates.

However, climatic changes has big effects on the outdoor weather. Many US area got it by snow in the past year or so, they weren't expecting it, didn't even had the proper equipment to plow the snow that they had to use garbage trucks to do so. Snow was definitely not a trend in those areas. Here in some areas of Canada, it has been quite the opposite for the past couple years, not as cold, not as much snow, heck last winter was almost over at the start of February. Climate changes, wether changes, could they be somewhat related, right?
