A great price by amazon, but to me there isn't anything good to watch... I'll keep waiting.

When they start streaming in HD 1080 with Dolby 5.1, then I'll get excited. We put all this money into our HT's for everything that Bluray has to offer and they stream at most 750 with stereo?

You gotta start somewhere. I'm sure right now they're getting the basic functionality and hardware and all that in place. As time goes on and they get all the kinks worked out I'm sure guys like them and Netflix will have HD streaming more wisely available (both have it on some material now)

In my opinion it's good to see some of the big players in the streaming game. As the ISP's try to bill on per gig basis, we will have more leverage on our side. It would be hard to stream what is offered, regardless of quality, if we don't stay with "unlimited" plans.

I too think as time goes on Amazon will get more content and hopefully HD quality.

Until they (including Netflix) starts streaming popular new releases, I could care less about the streaming services from either for the most part. I've been a member of Netflix for a long time, and while large, their streaming selection is mostly crap.

Aside from documentaries and TV shows, they don't have anything that's going to have me any more entertained than DirecTV does any given night.

Without popular new releases, I don't get the big deal.

Thanx for the post. I have been using prime for a couple years now. Might come in handy when I'm on the road. (provided I can get a decent internet connection in the hotel)

I have to agree 100%. I subscribe to both Netflix & Hulu (quit paying for cable months ago...absolutely don't miss it since the PS3 get the NHL Gamecenter app and I can watch my Isles in HD without paying Time Warner!!), and get probably only 75% of what I want. I can't wait for the day when a la cart tv is widely available, and without the delay in release we're experiencing today.

I found this blog post pretty interesting, and potentially helpful for those potentially considering one or more of the streaming services.

As far as I know, the Netflix 1080p is not exactly true- I think they throttle your stream based on bandwidth/speed. I can't complain about Netflix TV shows at all, but I'm sure those with better TV's than me can!

I will not adopt streaming until the quality of the content is better than that of usenet. Meaning, when they stream BD50, and comcast allows you to stream more than 7 movies..... until then, I don't even look at streaming.
