So i just picked up a SVS 16-46 and Crown com-tech 400 amp. It sounded great at the guys house, as soon as I get everything home and hooked up all i'm getting is a really loud buzz from the sub. I know some people recomend a cheater plug but it's running through my monster power conditioner and i've tried other outlets as well with no luck.
I've got an analog rca to XLR cable running from subwoofer out to channel 1 on the Crown, the amp is in bridged mode and i've checked the wires and connections 10 times. I'm using the same outlet I was for my old subs, nothing else in my system has ever hummed before, and i've checked to make sure the outlet is grounded. Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you have cable, satellite or OTA antenna hooked up to the system? If so, try disconnecting the coax cable from the back of your TV, cable box or satellite box and see if the hum goes away.

I tried that as well, it's hooked up on a separate shelf and only connected through hdmi if that makes any difference. I just got home from Walmart and bought a cheater plug. It went from a VERY loud hum to a much quieter hum. It's still noticeable and not ok to have permanently but it's better than it was. The seller suggested I look at the XLR cable on the inside to see what was wired to each prong. Prong 3 didn't have anything on it, only 1 and 2. I'm not very savy with wiring schematics or soldering though so it doesn't make much sense to me.

I'd check the plugs to be sure a stray wire wasn't in contact inside. Then I'd call the guy and see if he has any ideas.
    Too much **** to list....

The guy was really nice, he actually is a fellow Polkie with some 10 B's. He said if I bring it back by he'll take it all apart and test it out and help me find what is wrong. Like I said the hum went from VERY loud to a slight hum, but it's still noticeable. Thanks for the help and suggestions guys.
