SUT - can it used with MM?

I am about to purchase a SUT. I do not have a lomc cart yet so in order to test the SUT can I use it with a MM cart ?

    I would not. The gain through your system coukd be startling and possibly damaging. Most MM inputs on your preamp have a max of possibly 7mV. A MM cartridge with 5 mV through a SUT will well exceed the max voltage for that input.

    If you just want to test the SUT, my pre has a decent MM phono stage, and I'm already running a LOMC on the Empire. Just give me a holler and swing by. Or you could finally invite me over so I can hear your rig and I'll bring my Empire. :wink:
