what you guys think? i feel i got these at a steal, wont mention a price, but easily worth 3 times more than i paid i think for each one.

sony 5000f tuner, restored to great condition and sounds phenomenal! very very clean, all lights work, slight scratches on the front but to be expected...
and the amp is a TA-3200f, plenty of power, no static, just pure clean sound. was very impressed with this on a demo. plenty of headroom for serious wall destroying sound waves if you really wanted to, i probably wont ever see 9 oclock with it... anyways... PICS...

I always liked the brushed silver and black look. Looking forward to reading how they sound.

    Nice!!!

All you need now is a Sony CDP and you'll be good to go.

seent it, out of my current price range unfortunately. im a cheap impulse buyer (hence that pioneer) and this stuff. i saw this stuff on CL and was like "meh, whatever, ill shoot an email"... then he calls and im like "be there in five mins" lol.

currently listening to this on my altecs, zero tone control. sounds great honestly. this stuff may help me find my love again for solid state i once had, that was lost... thx to Harry... lmfao

The TA-2000 is the matching preamp for that set. I *think* one just got listed on Stereolist and Audiogon. ;)

i saw that pop up on there. at that price point, it just isnt worth it. i love the amp (surprisingly), but i have very little use for a tuner of this caliber. i use a tuner in my garage usually, but never for background noise or listening purposes. the tuner may hit audiogon within the next few weeks, unless someone on here wants it.

edit: nice russman, had to recheck and figure out WHY you knew that was on there. very nice, how about a donation? heh

I can do a Polkie price if you want (talk to me offlline, no pressure), but that being said - you're sitting on probably 4-5 bills for the amp, and another 2 for the tuna. If you aren't in love, post it, sell it, and get something that really blows your skirt up. Heck, you could step up into Jolida territory as mentioned in your other thread.

I've sold probably a half dozen of the preamps, and a couple of the amps, they have a following.

    Cheers,
    Russ

any clues on where to sell either one? audiogon scares me for selling, buying isnt a problem (buyer is usually protected). if i can honestly get five to six hundred out of both... i take back what i said. i could make five times what i have into these easily. wow did not realize that. i like the amp personally, it has made a home here for the time being until it dies or until i find one better (lol @ starship troopers reference).

Yes Silver, you struck gold on that CL hit. I saw them as well. Glad they found a good home. Congrats!~

these will soon have a pair of wooden sleeves (brand new, not refinished) for them, and the tuner shall hit CL for a week, if not sold on there, it will hit Audiogon. again, unless someone on here wants the tuner. the amp shall have a home for life with me at this rate. it really does sound good for vintage SS equipment, very impressed with it.

depending on what i get out of the tuner once sold, i may recap the amp, just to give me something to do........ lol

i agree. i feel the old stuff has a better look about it, with very similar performance (if not better really). i cant believe just how good that tuner really looks in that cabinet, sorta wish i had put it on the amp since i am keeping the amp... i may have to do that and promise to knock off a few bucks LOL

I worked part time at Sony's store on Okinawa while I lived there. I got paid in audio gear, I think I worked most of a whole summer for that tuner. If you take the top cover off you'll see that each subsection is completely encased. Excellent gear, I had the power amp also grouped with the matching preamp and Sony speakers. Also the TT3000 turntable, which is a nice sounding belt drive unit.
    Enjoy, Ken

i had the cover off, and it is certainly all encased. its a great looking tuner, unfortunately i dont listen to the radio very often (same songs every 3 hours it seems like) and not my favorite choice in music usually. its built like a tank though, it has a nice "heftiness" to it if you will lol
