HTPC Sound card requirements?

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, and just as much of a noob to the world of AV.
I'm putting together the following for my new place, need some advices:
Marantz SR5005
Lsi9
Emo XPA-2*
Emo Sub 12*
HTPC
My questions:
-For the HTPC, what's a worthy sound card for these equipments?
-Should I use optical out? or.. ?
-Is it ok to use the Marantz as a pre in this setup? (preouts to the amp and sub)
Any feedback regarding anything on my list is very welcome!
*I have read my share of the Emo threads, this is the best compromise I can live with as I live in Taiwan. I don't want to risk buying used equipments, repair and shipping would easily exceed the value of used equipments.
And stepping up isn't an option right now.
