    well cheaped out for now and went with the pioneer elite dv47a at 130, offer was accepted. then went out and bought some nice vintage Sony stuff in pristine condition. i suppose i came out on top, considering this tuner is worth 3 times what i paid for it, minimum. i have a hard time deciphering differences in cd players as far as tonal qualities, my ears just arent there due to hearing loss. i am taking your guys' words on this one lol.

    i really wanted the marantz, and that rotel. i will post back after i receive the pioneer and go from there though, im sure it will sound much better than my current low-end blu-ray player i have been using, hell i think my cdp in my 1993 truck sounds better! lol

    i researched it a bit, i pretty well refuse to ebay anything, its either local or forum or the occasional a-gon.

    i will post up how i like it, im afraid it may still have a tad of brightness to it, but am crossing my fingers. Indyhawg, u still wanting tubes? lol

    Yeah, I may get into something soon. I talked with Harry for a while Sunday night about a couple of the projects he's working on. I may end up getting one of them. But I am in the same boat as you are in with the CD player.

    i remember that lol. if you want a little extra time with tubes, we could possibly meet this weekend and you could try it out for the week, now that i have another amp i can use lol. highly recommend Harry's tube amps, great quality, as you could tell (i f'ed up the cosmetics, not him, promise lol).

    u do too what? if you have any way of sending a quality analog signal to it, id let you borrow it for a bit. u know i really dont care, i just love this hobby and want people to explore as many options as possible and experience as much hi-fi as they can. as long as nothing gets broke, im fine with it.

    o, well , lmfao. totally misread that.

    Harry does great work, i have seen MANY of his projects and rebuilds, and would not hesitate to buy anything from him at the price he says. i intend on many years of service from this tube amp i acquired from him, and even if it needs any kind of work, i know who i will be calling first and asking for advice/repair. it's hard to find people like that, he is one of a handful of people i would honestly say this about honestly, and i am one picky stingy sumb*tch.
