COMCAST or DIRECT TV?

Per my research, DirectTv got a deal for 1year but your locked with them for 2years. After 2years, ur basically screwed.

Comcast, 12 month promo but cost more than DirectTV.

U-Verse: not a option

QUALITY wise? Direct or COm?

Are you still under contract with Dish? If not, its something like $13.50 per month of contract remaining to cancel, I've looked into it. I'm also told that once you are out of the contract, and call to cancel, that they will offer you better deals. (Maybe someone else has input here?)
I'm fairly happy with it, I'm around $70/month with HD and HBO, I don't know if thats great or not, but I don't think its terrible. I need to start shopping, but nobody seems to ever offer a TV/internet package, I really don't need a home phone.

If you want to save $100.00 on your first ten months (My Account # 39511088)

Give them your DIRECTV account number and tell them to order online at directv.com/refer or by calling 1-800-507-4045. They must have your DIRECTV account number when they order. Where is my account number?
You can find your account number on your monthly DIRECTV bill or by logging in to directv.com

Receive $100 in bill credits for each friend who activates DIRECTV service

I have had Time Warner, Direct, and Dish and felt Dish offered the best quality picture, sound, and pricing overall. Direct has great customer service, but they can be pricey and sometimes lack local programming. Why are you unhappy with Dish if I may ask?

My Dad has Direct and loves the extra sports programming they offer over DISH. I Have DISH and like the "free HD for life" as well as the Superstation package (KTLA - LA, WSBK - Boston, KWGN - Denver, WWOR and WPIX - New York) which is not available elsewhere.

IMO, DirecTV is the best deal out there for quality and service if you don't mind being locked in a contract. Beats the hell out of cable here, and DISH Network doesn't even compare.

Been a DirecTV customer here for decades and I really have no complaints. It's just a good overall company to deal with. Can't speak for Comcast due to not ever having that option but I do remember a thread a while back that got some forum members pretty heated up when talking about them. Can't remember why exactly but I do recall that it wasn't good.

I'm about to drop Comcast, last month they started making everyone have to use one of their boxes to get reception, plus, for some reason ,they raised the rates up ,used to be about $25.00 a month, now $35.00 a month. I have standard service,no HD channels or HBO,etc... Time to go back to the antenna,it's free and at least the alphabet channels are in HD.

I have dish and have not seen direct in HD so I can't comment to the picture quality but I have been happy w my HD lineup and definately like Dish's program guide alot better than directTV's (my mother has direct). I am frustrated by Dish's remote however- even w/ new batteries it seems to always have a delay when bringing up menu or making selection. Anyone else have problems w/ their Dish remotes?
