using FXiA4 as surrounds with TSi fronts?
I'm running a CS20 center channel along with two TSi400s as my left and right mains... I've also got a pair of TSi200s as my rears (7.2 system... also have two PSW125s).
Originally, I was planning on using a second set of TSi200s for my surrounds as well to keep the whole system timbre-matched, but I've read on the forums where many suggest using dipole speakers for surrounds to provide a more enveloping sound...
My question is: Will the FXiA4s be a good fit with the rest of my speakers? Polk says it's timbre-matched for the RTiA series, where some resellers claim it'll work with ANY Polk home theater setup...
Thanks for your help!

Anyone?

Sure, they'll work fine, and like many always say here (and almost everywhere), timbre-matching isn't so important for surrounds/rears in HT applications. Go for it!

Finally had a guy from Polk tech support call me back and he advised to go with another pair of TSi200s...
When I expressed concerns over using a monopole as a side surround, he suggested "aiming it at the ceiling or other walls...", which is sort of hard to do when there's nothing between you and the side wall.
I think I'm going to pick up a pair of the FXiA4s and give them a shot... if I don't like them, I'll put them in the classifieds and replace them later on. I've got so much money (relatively speaking, I guess... for me) in the rest of the setup that playing around with one set of speakers for the surrounds isn't too big a deal. -
I've always wondered why they don't have a similarly designed surround in the TSi line...
Anyhow, I think you'll be pleased with the results, even if they don't "match." -
I used my current Fxi's when I had Monitor 70 front mains and a CS2 center.
I had zero issue with using them. I say go for it! -
Thanks guys... really appreciate you both taking the time to respond. I'll be picking up an pair of FXis soon.
