Must Make a Decision - Please Help

I've been reading so much that my brain hurts, so I'd be really grateful for some expert, calm opinions.

I had a full 5.1 system back in 2003. I moved, my towers were stolen, and long story short I'm just now upgrading to a real system.

I will be setting up a 5.2 system (no room for rears). Here's what I already have or am planning to get:

have already
eD A3S 250 sealed 10" subs (2 of them)
MB Quart QLS 330 center channel, (2 5.25s and one tweeter, at 6 ohms)

planning to buy
Onkyo 708 AVR
Polk FXi A6 for surrounds

considering for later upgrade
Emotiva UPA 7

I am basically willing to change any of the above items if a strong enough case is made to do so. I love the subs, so don't see a need to change them. I've researched the Onkyo 708 AVR and it seems like a good choice for many reasons, plus it has pre-outs and if I'm going to "improve" my receiver I think I'd like to do so with the UPA 7. The center channel is from my old system, was a great speaker then and still seems to be great now (my dad has a full MB Quart tower system for his HT). So I would prefer to keep it, but I am worried about its being a 6 ohm and possible problems with it fitting into the system. If I need to get a new center channel my preference would be the CSi A6.

Then there are the fronts:
I'm looking closely at the following:
  • RTi a7
  • LSi 15
  • RTi A5 or A9
  • LSi 9

Those are very roughly in order of preference. I'd prefer towers for the aesthetic and to fill the space. I worry that the Onkyo is not enough to drive the LSi15s and I don't want to be forced to buy a separate amp right now.

But at this point I'm really lost as to which to choose. I won't say money is no object, because obviously I'd prefer to pay less. But if I need to, I can go up to the LSi15s.

My use will be about 50% HT and 50% music. The setup is in a fairly large room (24' x 28'). But this is an open plan condo, so the HT setup is on one side with kitchen behind and dining room (again, ALL open) to one side. I'll be sitting about 9 feet from fronts, which will only be spaced about 6 feet apart. The surround speakers will be spaced very far apart, with the RS being a good ways from the listening position.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I really need to decide this week.

The Lsi's will require a separate amp to power them.

Have you considered the Monitor series of speakers? They are very efficient and would match the 708 very well. Just my opinion.

Check out Paradigm speakers, they match well with Onkyo.
