I really enjoyed the Grammy's, thougt it was a stout line up.

After hearing the two acts that were in the for Bob Dylan set, I ordered the Lp's from Amazon .ca. I hope the vinyl sounds good!

Should be here tomorrow or the next day.

"Sigh No More"
Mumford and Sons

I loved the energy that these guys showed. Gotta love the bluegrass picking from the banjo! Would love to be in a small tavern with some good friends sipping some brews and listening to them belt out their tunes.

Here's a clip from the Craig Ferguson show.

Other album is "I And Love And You" Avett Brothers. I really like the tempo and pace of the song they did, so I ordered it!

Anyone else like these two acts. Very folky/bluegrass from the first act. Love it! :)

The Mumford and Son's album is worth picking up. Kind of have a Blue October meets Dave Matthews sound, I'm digging it so far.

My girlfriend has been obsessed with the Avett Brothers for as long as I've known her. I swear she must have been to over thirty shows. Between their appearance and Arcade Fire's, we were pretty much forced to watch the Grammys.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Craig Ferguson isn't a musical group, it's a talk show host....
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Does anyone remember the talk show host Craig Kilborn? Didn't he leave the show and started his own band or something? I could have sworn I saw him performing a song on another talk show after he had left.

The Avett Brothers made it to the Grammy stage? Pretty cool. Saw them almost six years ago when they debuted at Merlefest. They turned the old school bluegrass crowd on their ears! Good to hear they're doing well.

I have listened to the album 3 times now and can say it is a very stout album in it genre.

The vocals really stand out, enhanced by the singers ability to sing a telling tale.

Half of the tracks are up tempo bluegrass pace and the other half come across as story telling ballads without the music being lost behind them.

I own the record version and the b-side is brilliant with its pace and arrangement. For those with the cd the b-side starts at "Little Lion Man"

Recommended! (who am I to recommend this, heck it's a great album!)

Well I too was attracted to this group and couldn't pass up the $4 CD price Amazon had day before yesterday. Have been listening and really enjoy the group, apparently all original lyrics.

Next on my list is Esperanza Spalding who was also a Grammy standout IMHO. All three of her albums look like great listening. Chamber Music Society is the latest release.
