OWM3s on the radar--Need quick advice. Opinions?
Just saw these on the Egg for $119 with free shipping for tonite only. Right now I'm temporarily using Dayton Audio B652s as my rears and I have to say they sound pretty nice, especially for the price ($25 on sale from parts-express). When I ran Audyssey it actually crossed them over at 40Hz (!!!) Of course, they absolutely blow away the Bose cubes I was using. That's awesome, and a little sad, too.
Anyway, what could I expect from upgrading to the OWM3s? The Daytons are just a little too obtrusive and the wife's not too keen on them otherwise I'd keep them. The OWM3s look like they'll integrate beautifully with my current setup but I don't have a way to audition them so any opinions would be much appreciated.

I've never heard the Daytons, but I have heard the Monitor 30's and own the OWM 3's. It wasn't a side by side A/B comparison, but I like the OWM 3's better (I hooked them up to a receiver and listened to them by themselves for a while before hooking them up in the home theater). The don't have much of a bass presence, but for surrounds you don't need much. When I listen to 5-channel music, they keep up with my Monitor 70 / CS2 nicely. And as you say, the WAF is high on these. They blend right in and my wife loves that. I've got them on OmniMount 10's, which screw right in to the speaker, no extra hardware or headaches with getting them on the mount.
I paid retail and am happy, for $119 I'd say hit it with a quickness. -
I have the OWM3 and I love them as surrounds I even tried them as fronts to break them in for a few days and they sound so great your sure your hearing a larger speaker like the monitor 30. The bass is weak but for surrounds you dont need bass you need crystal clear sound and an immersive sound field and thats what you get with these. Buy them you wont be dissapointed, if don't have unrealistic expectations.
