FYI: This one is really spreading right now, it usually tells you your machine will shut down in one minute, or gives you an RPC error. We have about a hundred machines hit right now (yeah, job security... )
Info
About half way down you can pick your OS, here's the 2000 and XP files:
Windows 2000
Windows XP

I'm going through the same thing. In windows 2000 your system probably won't shutdown but it will start doing some weird things. Man, fun stuff....:rolleyes:SDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070
Senn HD650 Cardas, Mapletree Audio Ear+ HD2, Kimber KS1030, Bel Canto DAC2, M-Audio Transit, Laptop. -
Another really good reason to at least have a NAT box (router) and/or firewall.

Yup...
Unfortunately with roaming dial up users it's a little difficult.SDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070

Yeah, the computer dept at CC got about 5 calls on it yesterday. One lady even returned her computer saying it kept shutting down. And I wake up today to my sister saying she has it and she wants to know what to do. But she can't get the patch, cuz it keeps shutting down. So she goes over to her neighbors house, gets the patch, then her neighbor gets it! Man, it was hectic for a while.
It does pay off to have Linux installed every once in a while.:D -
i didn't get it. i'm glad too. how was this virus spread? Email attachment or what? do virus programs not get to it? i upgraded my Norton virus program. double firewalled, and got the XP patch. Is that enough?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
DB- I didnt get it either. I am updated, Mcfirewalled and Mcvirus scan is online. I don't open any email that I don't know who it is....but for some reason I do open all the **** that gets sent to me....hmmmmCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. The worms sends istelf by searching out to related IP addresses. It takes advantage of unpatched systems for a specific Windows vulnerability. If you are behind a firewall you should be protected. If you can run a Windows Update it will protect you against it too. If you are infected go to this link and read through the instructions, there is a tool you can download to remove the worm.

Hi Luc.... 32 bit. It doesn't say that specifically anywhere, but I don't think the 64 is readily available right now. -
I know you're right.
Someone said the 64 bit version is available on some computers costing $5K or more.
I surely didn't pay that much.
