Up for sale is my pair of Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 open back headphones. They are great headphones and IMO the best budget ($150) audiophile cans. I compared them directly to the famous AKG K702 which overall were better, but only because they were a little more transparent. The ATH-AD700s have fuller bass response, and end up sounding a little more musical. They are extremely comfortable with their auto-sizing supports and velvety ear pads.

The only reason I am selling them as I have been doing more traveling for work lately, and circumaural headphones do not travel well. I will be investing in a pair of in ear monitors with the sale of these cans. I bought these last year and they are in lightly used condition, but I do not have the original box anymore. They will however come with the 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, and will be boxed with bubble-wrap and insured.

$100 paypal shipped and insured.

Fantastic cans! I've got mine on right now! And one thing they have over the AKG's is they are extremely easy to drive. You could plug em right into an iPod with no problems. Like anything, though, they do benefit from a nice headphone amp. And theyre crazy comfy.

Thanks for the nice words. The other thing I like about these headphones is they sound similar to speakers. I originally got them because I like the openness and sense of room with speakers, and these do a great job at providing that type of sound.

deffiinitely. You don't get the typical soundstage "between your ears" feel. the sound extends outwards. Good luck with the sale, I don't often see posts about headphones so I don't know if people will be interested here, but hopefully someone does themselves a favor and buys these.

Geez, zingo, you kept messing with my budget  I took your word & ordered a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-AD700. Guess what, it beat my old Sennheiser HD-500 by a mile!!! It produced fantastic clean & clear sound while plugged into my Audioengine N22 amp; it actually unmasked the inferiority of the 4th-gen iPod Touch DAC pretty evidently; it enveloped the ears so comfortably which helped me listen to music for hours without worrying about hurting my ears like with the Sennheiser. The only con I can think of was that the music leaked out a bit due to its open-back design, therefore my wife could hear what I'm playing clearly
