Okay so i'm new to this whole home theater stuff, tonight I got all my speakers and hooked them up and I have a few problems.

This is what I got

4x Monitor 70 series II floor speakers
1x Cs2 series II mid
1x PSW505

I did the auto cal and everything went fine and the speakers work. They really don't sound that good to me.. i've never really herd anything other then a 150 dollar htiob and I can't really hear much difference. Maybe the auto cal just didn't work very good I don't know.

Now my main concern is the psw505... everyone i've talked to about it says it is good and loud and rumbles.. mine does nothing.

I hooked it up like the book said and turned it up to just under half volume on the sub with the frequency thing all the way up then did the auto.. and it just doesn't do anything. I can turn up the volume on the sub to max and just barely hear the sub while it's playing. I searched through all the settings and it's recognizing it but there is just no thump?

The auto call set all my speakers to large and when they are set to large I can't ajust cross over or anything so I put them to small and put the crossovers at 80hz but still the same sound from the sub.

What receiver are you using ? Did you have the mic in your listening position,at ear level when you ran the auto calibration ?
Try going into the system setup menu and under speaker levels, put all of them to 0.0, Also is the sub connected to the sub out on the back of the receiver ? Speakers connected to receiver or sub ?

Find the MENU for the SUB DB output and bring that output UP on the SONY. Make sure the sub crossover on your SONY is set to around 80hz. Make sure the SONY recognizes that there is a SUB there. Confirm that in its menus?

Some Sony AVRs are a bit funny. They won't use the sub in stereo play unless set that way. But it sounds to me that you just have to turn up the bass on the SONY AVR?

Leave the PSW505 VOLUME at about 12 o'clock. Turn the Freq cut-off control on the SUB to full THROTTLE. Make sure the sub cable is feeding from the sub-out on the Sony to the LFE IN on the POLK sub. Finally flick the phase switch back and forth from 0 to 180 till you hear the loudest cleanest bass in your opinion.

    Good Luck!

Interesting that there's another person having sub output issues, also posting today, and who is also running the same AVR.
