Pin-blade sda AI-1

Looks like a set of EL34 monoblocks are in my near future, so I need a pin-blade AI-1. Yes, I know I could cut up my cable to make one, but would strongly prefer to keep that cable intact.
Alternatively, if anyone has a pair of pin-blade connectors, I'd be happy to have those and would make my own cable.

You would be better of making one, it's not that hard. and the price for an original will be about the same maybe a little more. also finding someone that wants to part with one well good luck...
You might get lucky and someone wants to part with one but I would bet it will be between $150-$200 -
I've seen Ben suggest that the pin side of the plug can be made with out of an RCA jack with its fin/shield things pulled off. Would that be an option for the cable ends if one didn't want to sacrifice their stock cable as Ken's instructions suggest? Or is that not secure enough for the long haul?
I have to admit, this is a question I've had myself after looking at the various Dreadnought threads. I can't figure out how people are plugging them into the speakers after AI-1 is built. -
The blade side can be modified with a spade or banana and go to the negitive binding post, I used a spade as I use bananas on my speaker cables...
On the pin side you can use an RCA connection, just cut the blades off the RCA jack. I modified my SDA socket with a binding post so I am able to use a banana jack for my pin..
If this makes no sense I can post some pics if that would help..
I highly recommend building an AI-1 cable if you are able to do so. -
Ah, so you've got two connections to the negative binding posts on each speaker, one going back to the amp and one going to the AI-1. I don't know why that wasn't sinking in. Ken writes instructions like I do... all words and no pictures. It's hard for my brain to process, especially after getting home and starting happy hour. Thanks, Larry!
Sorry for the threadjack, bump in case anyone wants to part with their stock AI-1, and +1 for attempting to build your own. It's good mental exercise if nothing else. -
If you absolutely want an AI-1.....I've got a museum quality, NOS unit in it's box that's in an outer sleeve/box. It'll be "spendy" I'd make up a dreadnaught if I needed one.

I have made a few for Polkies. If you want me to build you one shoot me a PM.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Can you define "spendy"? Feel free to pm me, but you'll need to clean out your inbox if you want a replyTurntable: Empire 208
