I think I will stick with sealed.
Right now I was planning on doing 2 pieces of wood in the front and recess the driver. Should I add a 3rd?

I am going with 3/4 MDF since its cheaper and the box will not be visible. I was just planning on using strips of wood to brace the box. vertically and horizontally.

i will cover the front face with some veneer or something that can be stained to match the cabinet.

You should really reconsider a thicker baffle. In case you're worried about having to purchase an extra sheet, HD and Lowes sell small pieces of MDF too.

so 2 sheets of 3/4 mdf would not be enough for the front baffle.. I dpnt mind doing a 3rd.

I don't know how I missed that sentence of your post, two .75" sheets will be fine for the front baffle.
