Can someone tell me why the sda-2 has three mid-range drivers and why the sda-2b has just two? Does the sda-2 have an additional crossover? I picked these sda-2's up at a garage sale after having a set of monitor 10's for about a year. I love the sound of both of them, but I sure do like the sda effect!

I have wondered that myself. I know the lower mid is crossed over a bit lower but other than that I have no idea why.

My guess is they thought it needed more bass extension and added the bass driver.

I prefer the sound of my original SDA2's to the A, B or C. Especially after getting rid of the dimensional tweeter.

What difference did you notice when you removed the dimensional tweeter? I've heard about doing that but have been reluctant to try it. Did you just disconnect it? Also, did you have to reseal under the tweeter to keep the speaker sealed tight?
