I like em. They're a little bright and definitely good HT speakers, I listen to music on mine and i'd call em decent. Running them off an amp definitely improved the sound from them but they're not as power hungry as the Rti 10's or 12's.

I have my rti8 paired up with a tube amp and they sound great with music . The rti8's are very detailed with a nice fast punchy bass from the dual 6 inch drivers and can really vanish when hooked up to some good equipment .I think they sound very forgiving with alot of old rock tracks

Listen to them before you buy and check them out for anything suspicious

For that price I would definately pick up the 8's. Some people say they are also good for surrounds, and I could see how they would be. Either way for $300 I would find a use for them.

They're a little too bright in the music department, but than again, I've never heard them with tubes. For HT, I think they're fantastic. I was planning on selling my RTi8s, but was able to dial them in with a better receiver. Now they sound fantastic.

At $300, you really can't go wrong. I bought my pair for around $600 and thought that was a great deal. $300 is a steal in my book.

I love my RTi8's paired with an Onkyo A-9555 integrated amp fed from my PC based collection of WMA Lossless rips, via a USB DAC. This rig sounds fantastic to me.

In July 2008 I paid $399 for the pair, new at Fry's - I think they were being cleared out for the RTiA line.
