Ordered a new black Jolida JD100.
I have a pair of Sylvania 3 mica, black plate D getter 5751s and a PS audio power cable that I will add once the CDP is in my rack.
I have some dynamat extreme, can I use this inside the CDP ?
What else can I do that is worth wild.
TIA,
Tracy

I would look over at DIYaudio. They have a lot of friendly advice there if you do the searching.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Here's a link to F1nut's mod on the Jolida 100.

SOmeone here has my same CDP Rotel and said the Jolida slayed the Rotel. I want to find out.
Now, I do run my Rotel threw my PS Aduio DAC and when I A/B the Rotel internal dac againest the PS AUdio, the PS AUdio wins hands down.
It would be great if I could loose the Rotel and Dac.
If not I will flip the Joilda.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Make sure you have good tubes in the Jolida and burn it all in before you compare.SystemLuxman L-590AXII Integrated Amplifier|KEF Reference 1 Loudspeakers|PS Audio Directream Jr|Sansui TU-9900 Tuner|TEAC A-6100 RtR|Nakamichi RX-202 Cassette -

Looks like my JD100 will be delivered tomorrow. First thing will be to put the Sylvania 5751s in right off the bat see how it compares to the Rotel 1072 CDP and PS Audio DAC.
I recognize the JD100 will need some burn in time.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

When did you order it? I thought it shipped from China?
I also have a rotel 1072 and would like to hear your impressions on the two units. -
Tracy, if you have an aftermarket power cord, swap it with the stock Jolida. I'm not sure I've ever had another piece of gear that changing the power cord made such a drastic difference.Political Correctness'.........defined

Was to be delivered today but since we did not get the tracking email no one was at home but will be tomorrow.Tracy, if you have an aftermarket power cord, swap it with the stock Jolida. JD100 in the rack.
HEHEHEHE
It took about 1.5 hours for the CDP to open up and start being on par with the Rotel 1072 with PS Audio DL III.
I copied a HDCD Marek Knoflier Sailing to Philadelphia so I could A/B 1072/DAC and JD100 with Sylvania 5751 tubes. The Rotel does HDCD but the JD100 does not. We will be trying different CDs over the next couple of days before remove the Rotel.
It took the entire CD to start picking out the differences.
At the risk of jepordizing future sale of Rotel 1072 and PS AUdio DAC here are my finding so far.
I found myself enjoying both sources. I did notice fairly quickly the JD100 had better bass that was tighter and was able to feel vibrations in my couch. I never thought the Rotel/DAC combo made boomy bass but after the listening to JD100 I found the Rotel/DAC bass to be subpar to the JD100
Seperation was quiet a bit better and nearly rivals my TT.
Lastly I agree with Jetmaker assessment that the JD100 has more depth and air between the instruments.
It took a lot of A/B listening to find the differences but once I did I found I enjoyed listening to the JD100 much more.
I am going to try a pair of PSVANE 12AX7s, order placed this morning.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

thsmith,I think you will enjoy this player...it will only get better with time.
I wish I had Jesses talent,I'd love to mod the JD100 to it's full potential...all I have done is Dynamat, power cord and roll some tubes. -

Mike, that is a good start. Once the treasures arrive I will dynamat mine too.
It will problably be a month or so before I venture down the hot rod mods road Jeese did.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

I just listened to Pure Prairie League Busting out and almost feel asleep so relaxed.
One thing I am noticing is the JD100 definately needs some warm up time to sound its best. More than my other tube gear.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
