1.2TL crossover frequency

What is the Low/High crossover frequency for our 1.2 TL's? I am playing with the thought of bi-amping using my room correction system that has an electronic crossover. I wanted to try using the MC500 for the low and use 2 of the MC206's channels for the high. If it turns out good maybe get another MC500. Not sure what power ratio you would need for bi-amping the 1.2TL's
Of course I would need to install the additional terminals that I removed again because "I would never bi-amp"

Have you seen the 1.2TL's crossover? Active is out of the question unless you have a lot of spare time and 12 channels of amplification.

Maybe I misunderstood. I read somewhere that it was better to chop up the signal in the electronic crossover before it was sent to the passive crossover on the speakers. So you recommend just go full frequency on both high and low and let the speaker do the job?

Yes let the speaker do the job. The crossover in those speakers is designed solely for them and is tailored to the speakers in the cabinet.

Also, your correction software will not be able to reproduce the SDA effect. It will wreck the whole idea of those speakers.

Chopping up the signal refers to bi-amplifying the speakers. It sends the lows and lower midrange frequencies to the woofers and the upper midrange and higher frequencies to the tweeters. It can work extremely well, but the amps really need to match for it to work right.

If you want to look into upgrading the crossover that is a different story as parts in them get old and wear out in time. I was amazed with the sound of my speakers after I redid the crossovers.

If i am not mistaken, Janne was wondering if they should filter out the signals before the amps? I biamp and have always wondered that as well. However Janne, I let my twin Hafler's (one for highs, one for lows) have full signal range (As the others mentioned...)
and let the passive Xo's do their job.

    hope that helps,
