I was wandering what a good starting system would be for around $1000. The head unit woul be an Alpine CDA-7995. Any suggestions on a component system and amp to go with it. Just starting out in the car audio world. Suggestions welcome.:)

set of db "junior" components up front -- ~225
set of db "junior" coaxials in back -- ~100 or so

    4 channel 75 x 4 - 100 x 4 for highs -- ~200 - 250

two baby momo 10's -- 240 at crutchfield for the pair.

    600 watt amp -- $250 - 300

    wiring kit - 100

    speaker wire - 50

.... whatta we got -- roughly 1150 bucks... get some stuff on sale, pinch a penny here or there and you're allright... this assumes you didn't count the headunit in the 1000 bucks.

if you want any specifics -- feel free to ask.

lol....the db "juniors" are made by polk
    theyre the new db speakers
polk made an old pair of db's a few years ago...hence the new ones are db juniors
how much would the head unit cost?
would you mind going to ebay to get some stuff?(not used stuff...but new in box stuff...you wont get the warranty but itll be much cheaper)

what kind of car do you have?
what size are your stock speakers?
is space much of an issue?

I have a 1981 Camaro Z28. New engine puts out over 400 HP. The inside is small, stock in back is 6x9, front i don't know.the inside is pretty small. Hardly any backseat, but spave for speakers is only enough for 2 sets inside.

well considering the car you could do the new db components or the momo comps in front and then trim out your back 6x9 holes to fit round 8" subs and put two of the new momo 8" 200 watt subs in there.

i think that'd hit hard, come in under a grand, and sound nice.

just better know how to build a box that'll bolt to the deck.
