Some Advice?

Recently I put something up for sale on Audiogon. I did state OBO which then goes through audiogon for the Make an Offer.
Well Within a day or so I got a very low ball offer which of course I said no to. Well the same person kept sending in offers, each time a bit higher at which I finally stated on about the 3rd or 4th offer a counter of what I was willing to do and they accepted it.
Well it appears that the person is buying this from a different country per their sig line in their email, stating their address is in Taiwan and I did state US only in my add which originally the offer comes through as a CA address but when you look it up its like a shipping plant??
Then the person comes back and wants me to wait a few days for payment via paypal as they "need to get their limit raised on their card." This was Wed. of last week and I asked how long and they said a couple of days.
Now I got another email asking for me to wait longer with no time frame given because they still need to get the limit raised.
Do you guys think I have given enough time for a buyer to send the funds, or should I keep giving an extension? My point is that now my ad says sold, and I still don't have funds at which in my mind if you said you wanted to buy it, the money should be there prior to the purchase not after the fact.
Would it be fair for me to just say if the money is not here within 24 hours I will leave negative feedback and relist the item?
Just looking for feedback. I'm normally pretty reasonable so I don't want to be a dick, but at the same time if you said you could buy it and make offers and not come through after having time to do so its not fair for me to sit and wait either.

Do that now, or just leave them negative feedback today. They didn't have the funds ready, inconvenienced you, and there's a high chance they didn't comply with the "US ONLY" portion of your ad.

yeah I told them I'm not selling to them. Just noticed as well that the person I'm talking to is a Jackie but the shipping address is to a Tom sooooooooo yeah it says beware to me.
Seriously it pisses me off because now I just wasted 4 bucks on an ad that I will have to relist. -
Don't waste your time with that seller. If he didn't have the funds available right away then he should've waited to submit an offer.

It may work out but you can't WAIT FOREVER. Interestingly, I was at the Post Office this morning mailing off some funds for a purchase on this site and I overheard a woman who was selling a pair of speakers and shipping them to China? Caught my ear as the Clerk told her that the shipping would cost almost as much as her speakers (or the way they wanted them shipped would)!

I obviously agree with people who suggested to ditch this buyer. It sounds very fishy.
On the other hand, I never understood people who wouldn't ship to Canada. In many cases, it's closer to ship than across USA. And the usual response I get: "oh, it's too much trouble". Contact Audiogon, explain the situation and they might let you relist for free.Political Correctness'.........defined

That sounds like someone trying to rip you off.
It was worth the four bucks to get rid of them.
I also don't get the U.S only thing.
Why wouldn't the sellers who stae this want to ship to Canada?
It really isn't any issue.

Other than common courtesy, you don't owe that buyer anything and I think you did the right thing.
The way you tell the story it sounds to me that you have already gone above and beyond anything necessary. You entertained multiple offers despite the buyer initially low balling you, you broke your rule of no international shipping that your original posting stated and that the buyer obviously ignored, and you have patiently waited for funds. Sending the person an email saying thanks but you are no longer willing to sell it to him/her is all that is necessary. You can sell to who ever you want, but being polite goes a long way.
And why not contact Audiogon (service@audiogon.com) and request a refund on the listing fee becuase of item did not sell (buyer did not pay as promised). If they collected fees for incomplete sales you can bet people will be driven back to Ebay...
