Best Receiver for these Systems?

I still haven't 100% Decided on which route I am going to take with my HT/Gaming/Music System, but I've narrowed it down to two options.
The Receiver I have been looking at and which has excellent features for the price is the Pioneer VSX-1020-K. It is currently on sale for $350 Shipped Brand New at Amazon.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Pioneer+Receivers/VSX-1020-K
Does anyone have experience with this unit or can anyone tell me if it is the best option in the $350 or less price range?
These are the two systems that I am considering and I'm not sure if they either would work better with different receivers.
Energy RC System:
2x Energy RC-50's
2x Energy RC-10's
1x Energy RC-LCR
Sub is Undecided
Polk Monitor System:
2x Polk Monitor 70's
2x Polk Monitor 40's
1x Polk CS2
1x Polk PSW505
Thanks for the Help!

Why not consider the RTiA series which would dominate both packages there? Would save you from upgrading and "what if" in the short future. Something to consider, Pioneer would be a fine receiver also.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

The RTi Series is far more expensive than either of these packages, though. lol My budget is in the neighborhood of $1,000-$1,200 which I can achieve with both of these. The Lowest models of the RTi series are the RTI A5 Towers which are $900/Pair and the RTI A1 Bookshelves which are $340/Pair. Those 3 speakers cost more than my entire setup. hehe I definitely can't stick with that. I appreciate the heads up, though! If only I didn't have a budget.
lol
But the VSX-1020-K would be great with either of the systems I listed? I don't know much about Receivers, but it looks like it has excellent features and plenty of power to run my system. If there are better alternatives or equal options for cheaper, then please feel free to let me know! Thanks. -
Onkyo 708 would be a perfect fit. Not a very expensive reciever. Can be had for under $600.
It would fit those speakers perfectly and also gives you pre-outs for the option of external amplification in the future.~Dan

The 708 would do. But definitely STEP UP to the Pioneer VSX-1120 if you're going to go Pioneer? Or the Elite VSX-32. The 1020 has no pre-outs and less real power!
You NOW have enough INFO to make a decision. Not a lot more questions can be asked or answered.
If I were you I'd GET OUT AND LISTEN to some of this stuff. We can't MAKE your decisions for you. You might dislike what 'we' think sounds good. Our ears are different, you see. And the RESPONSIBILITY is YOURS!

Welcome Kabigon. Please get a receiver with preouts as stated above. It will cost you more money up front, but save you in the long run from having to upgrade your recevier to get this very important feature.

He didn't ask our opinion on how the receiver would sound. Only if any of us here had any exp with one receiver and whether we thought it would be a good match with the speakers.TO ERR IS HUMAN. TO FORGIVE IS CANINE. -

Sorry Don, if I seem a little pressed here. It's because I answered over a half-dozen or more of this person's PMs to me last night. I've written a short article of info and I just felt its time for fewer questions and more action. Of course, you have no way of knowing that.

FYI, Newegg has great deals on Polk if you sign up for their letter and are patient. Also, don't be afraid of the "refurbed" speakers on Polk's ebay store. Most people conclude that they received new units. Probably B-stock. My Lsi 25s arrived in new condition. I also feel that a Receiver with Preouts like the 1120 is what you should get for future upgrade potential. Both speaker packages look good and if you went with Energy, the Polk PSW 505 would still be a good Sub to go with. The Pioneer Receiver like the 1120 would be ok for both speaker packages.Home Theatre.............

I actually bought the 1020k last year, its a real good receiver dont get me wrong. And has a bunch of cool functions. But it lacks having pre outs for another amp. When I bought it, it was RIGHT when it came out, and I got it for a little over 500. If I had a chance now to get the 1120k I totally would do that. Best buy was actually doing a thing on their website where the 1120k was CHEAPER then the 1020k haha
Either way its a good buy. I would love to get external amps to really power a system, but then Id be spending atleast another 300 on just the amp. So maybe when I upgrade to another receiver Ill go the external amp route.Home Theater Setup- Receiver - Onkyo TX-RZ1100
