I don't see the Rangers doing much this year. They had alot of things fall into place and go their way last year, the chances of that happening again this year are just too low.

You guys just signed Vlady to a 1 year deal. I'm going to ride up just to see him play this year. I've always liked that guy

Well, since they lost their ace pitcher, they are going to struggle a bit more unless the prospects they got from the Phillies for him are going to pay off.

My dad and I were talking about going out there. We try to do one away series a season, and Philly was on the top of the list for this season. But my best friend decided to get married that weekend in Key West. I think the Phillies are here in July or August.

Looks like we are going to the Boston series though.

Fenway should be good. Difficult to land Phillies tix anymore.
If you make it over our way be sure to give a shout, I'm ten minutes from the stadiums. Enjoy!

Now that would be cool. I can certainly make the 2.5 hour ride up. I'm hoping to catch a Yankee game there. Just think, the rest of you would have a team to hate, regardless if you're an O's fan or not

I'm trying to figure a way to put one together sometime this summer with a Phillies game.
Just so difficult or too expensive to score those tix. Seems like a good combo music and some baseball.

    Sounds good Amherst.

Tickets to sporting events are rediculous these days. I hardly ever plan to go to a game anymore. I just show up with my girlfriend or dad and if we can't scalp a good deal for tickets there are plenty of free bar stools to sit at in the area. Last year I went to quite a few games at Wrigley, never paid more than face value.

Cubs vs Red Sox for 2 games plus airfare is not gonna be cheap but oh well. I've never been to Boston and my dad's best friend lives there.

Back to baseball. I like the Phillies, Rockies and Cubbies in the NL (wouldn't bet on the Cubs but hey it's February) Brewers taking the wild card. AL I like Red Sox, Tigers, and Angels with the Twins taking the wild card. So there you go no need to play the regular season.

Something about those Rocks I don't like, maybe cause they seem to always come out of nowhere at seasons end. Now the Angels.... you may have something there. Spring trainings almost here!!!

Phillies tickets aren't that bad they're just popular so tickets are hard to come by.

Funny thing is though, the games sell out but the stands are rarely completely full because crooks on StubHub buy the tickets at face value and then resell them at a mark up.

As far as predictions, the NL has the Phillies at the top but the rest is wide open. If the Phils stay healthy this year, they are going to be a real tough out for another team if they are an out at all. I feel for the NL East because even the Marlins don't look like they can challenge this year. Injuries and aging talent are going to get the best of the rest except for Atlanta. But Atlanta got ahead last year because of a mid-season slump partially due to injuries to key positions. But Atlanta's young right now and they had a good showing last year.

The rest of the NL? The NL West was pretty tight last year and didn't really start to open up until late August. The only struggling team there is the D-backs. The NL Central is anybody's game. Except maybe the Pirates. They just suck out loud.

The AL though? I'm callin' Red Sox all the way! They got the talent, they're healthy and they want another chance. With NY out of the way for the most part due to injuries and aging talent, I don't see much stopping the Red Sox from dominating. (I'm secretly hoping for a Phils v. Red Sox World Series too!)

Tampa Bay is going to be a fight for the Red Sox though in the AL East. The AL Central is fairly tight and the only team that isn't really a contender is KC but they are young and they have good developing talent. They did well in acquiring off-season talent too. But the Twins, Chicago and Detroit can all contend for the Division win. In fact, I can see Detroit as a dark horse, come from behind winner there. The AL West is probably the tightest division. There's no really strong team there but they are all capable of winning enough to take the Division. The Rangers got it last year but just sucking less than the other 3. But the spread is pretty close even with Seattle's 101 losses. As few as 10 more wins in the division and they would have been neck and neck with the Angels and the A's.

It should be an interesting season this year.

Yeah, they do seem to pull one out of their butts every year and get competitive at the perfect time. They rarely lose that head of steam too.

    I like that.

Phillies man they look good. Everytime I think about their rotation it makes my head spin. Chase Utley is one of my favorite players in the majors to watch. The guy just gets it.

I'm not expecting much from the Cubs. I want us to not suck even quietly and develop young talent. If big Z doesn't suck out loud who knows we could be in the thick of things come August and September.

I've always like the Rockies. Larry Walker!! The guy had great moss. Now you got Car Go, Tulo, and Ubaldo. Plus my girlfriend is related to Ian Stewart so I follow him quite a bit.

Zags not doing so well this season... just so so.

The sports media is saying their decade of dominance is over.... i might just have to agree. it was a fun ride.. and there were a lot of highs over those 10 yrs.. but this current line up is really struggling. Next few years look to be about the same.
