Do old speaker crossovers wear out or degrade (Monitor12 Series 2)?

Hi!
I'm the original owner of a pair Monitor12 Series2 (with RDO 198 tweeters), and wondering if the crossovers need maintenance, inspection or replacement. I'm no audio genius for sure, but do know that over time, capacitors can lose efficacy, and sometime leak, dry out or burst.
I love these speakers, and recently doubled the power (twin Adcom GFA 555 in Bridged Mono), so want to be sure.
Thanks!

EVERYTHING wears out eventually. Mountains erode--might take millions of years, but sooner or later, EVERYTHING degrades.
You already know that capacitors fail over time.
You've answered your own question. Yes, crossovers need lovin'. -
OK
So if it's as suspected, that capacitors wear out, are there any tried an true methods and materials that should be used to rennovate the crossovers, or is it just a matter of pull and replace with pieces of same value?
I'm mechanically inclined guy for sure, having built 4 custom cars over the years, but electronics is something I haven't had much experience with (other than auto electronics), which doesn't really cross-over (good joke!) to home audio.

Can you solder? Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Yep-- remove and replace with components of the same value (uf) for caps and resistence for the resistors,, higher voltage ratings are fine.Good luck, keep us posted.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I can solder with the best of them after several wiring harness swaps! I looked at the schematics, and ordered the parts.
Worst case is I spend an hour fixing something not broken.
I might learn something and that's worth the hours worth of time. I learned how to fix a troubling ground hum with the source side of the setup last week, and that was fun, so maybe this will be too

Mark ,
Please take picture I have a set and have been thinking the same . already replace tweeters ( one sl2500 was blown) I think they sound great with Jazz and Classical standing out .
I have a set of 10's I plan on doing also ... then the SDA2's
let us know what you think sound wise after the replacement.
thanks Kent -
can do! but with the recent snows, I have to remove some tree debris from the yard first. Should be in about a week and a half when I get this done.
FWIW, I replaced the SL2500 speakers about a 2 years ago when I fried one through sheer abuse. I like the sound of the new tweeters better. I'd be surprised if this simple re-cap is as dramatic.
