Speakers configuration
Gents, I really need your assistance.
My DENON AVR 1907 is burnt (control boards and transformer) and I would like to find out what I did wrong: Ive added two new RTiA7 (300 watts) as front speakers to the existing two RTiA1 (125 watts - surround back) and CSiA4 (180 watts). Ive connected my laptop to DENON and starting the party using all these speakers. After few hours DENON stopped working due to the high temperature in the room (I believe). Ive restarted after 10 minutes and forced to play on maximum volume (laptop volume on max, media player on max and DENON on max). Of course that after short time DENON was burnt (FYI the cost for repairing 300USD).
I am trying to find out what was wrong and if DENON AVR 1907 can drive all above mentioned speakers. Moreover today Ive purchased the subwoofer PSW 125 (300 watts) and I really dont know if my receiver can drive all my POLKAUDIO speakers. Please advise if my DENON is still ok for all the speakers and if not what receiver I have to buy.
Thank you for your assistance.

Well, I'm thinking the key word here is party... The volume has a way of inching upward as the night passes. Sounds like it was cranked too loud for too long. I'm surprised the speakers weren't damaged.

Thank you for prompt reply. Yes you are right and I don't know yet if the speakers are damaged. No receiver yet to test. What about the receiver? As per below specification it is able to drive all my speakers? I am not expert at all and I am looking for a professional advise how to configure my system.

Yes, that receiver can drive all of those speakers, but really, no receiver is meant to be played at or near its max volume. Those speakers can be played loud, but most here would recommend external amplification if you're prone to playing it at high volume. Usually, distortion starts to cause them to sound like garbage when turned up too loud and most would usually back off the volume at that point, but I understand that in a party situation, that might not be so noticeable and perhaps you pushed it too far.
There are many options out there - just try searching around on here if you want to know more. In the meantime, see if you can find a functional receiver/amp to test your speakers. It sounds like your Denon went into "protect mode". You'll probably have to have a repair shop check it out to see if it can be reset, or perhaps others here familiar with Denon will chime in. Actually, protect mode is a good thing. Hard to say if you've pushed it beyond that. If so, it could be junk.
