I'm thinking of installing 4 RC65i's in my living room to replace the RT1000's I currently have - does anyone have these - are you satisfied - any advice? Also considering the Atrium 45's for the paito - thoughts? Thanks. JP

I have heard the Atrium 55s. Never the 45. The 55 is AWESOME! I swear, the soundstage on that thing is unreal. I can hear it clearly and accurately over 45 feet away, and that is in a different direction of the speakers themselves. But they are awesome speakers for outdoor use.

The inwalls, ask Ron bout them, I think he has some. Or something like it.

Once again, if you haven't heard the 45, why post? 45 feet away facing a different direction, and they had a killer soundstage?

    Jer,

I have the Atrium 45's hooked up as rears in my HT. I spent a couple days with them setup in a 2ch rig at first. Overly bright, and very bass-thin (even for the size) initially. However, they truely mellowed out after about 20hrs of use.

Granted, you can't expect GREAT bass from a speaker that small, but it is certainly adequate for outdoor/background/rear ch duty. Good sound, durability, and a well designed built-in bracket make them a winner in my book.

That, and they go for next to nothing on ebay these days. That being said, if you DO want a little more low end, but don't want to spend any more (maybe even a little less), look for the recently out-of-production Monitor 2 (M2). Larger mid-bass, ported enclosure, not quite as friendly a bracket, but useable.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    Man Russ, EFF YOU! Dang.....

I HAVE HEARD THE **ATRIUM** - the sound can not vary by that much. Man get a life. I can post, and share my *thoughts* and *opinions* where ever I want. They didnt have a *killer* soundstage but was better than some speakers that are right infront of you. Once again, I comend you to get a life.

I havn't heard the RC65i's, but I like the Atrium's, both models. It isn't an amazing speaker, but it is one of the better sounding outdoor speakers I have run across. It sounds better than the Bose 151, which is I think one of the first outdoor speakers that was popular.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

If you use the outdoors much, it's probly worth bumping up to the Atrium 55's. They have considerably more bass. Otherwise, the 45's are a fine choice.
