XPA-5 purchased around Nov '08. Not a scratch on it. Took it out of the box and put it in my rack. Now back in the box. $750 shipped in the CONUS.

UPA-2 purchased Jan '09. Same story, not a scratch on it. $300 shipped in CONUS.

Both have given me exceptional service and I never thought I would sell them. I upgraded to a 7 channel 200wpc ATI amp that I found locally at a good price. Gives me a smaller footprint and room for other (2 channel) gear in my rack.

I have both original double-boxes, manuals, cords, even the silica gel packs. Both amps were installed on a dedicated circuit and fed by line-conditioners - they never saw bad power. Both installed in my dedicated home theater, no pets, smokers, etc.

5 year warranties transfer from Emo, of course.

Check out my feedback on eBay. My ID is rtinatl. Over ten years as a member, never a negative, 235 transactions, all 100% positives.

Discount for local pickup, of course.

You will certainly have better luck over at the Emo forum...

Why are you selling them if I may ask?

Why are you selling them if I may ask?

It's listed at the Emo forum. Got a few nibbles, but found out that Emo will offer an additional $50 discount if you tell them you're considering a used unit. Good to know, but doesn't help me.

I'm selling them to finance a purchase of an ATI 2007 amp I found locally. It's got 7 channels, 200wpc in one (100+ lb!) package, and has balanced connections for all 7 channels. Do I need the upgrade? Heck no! I've been very happy with my Emo amps and never thought I would sell them. I bought them both when the UMC-1 was 'imminent' and waited for several months on the 'list' for it to arrive. After they both spent several months unused in the boxes, I finally bought an Onkyo PR-SC885 when they were being closed out and have been glad I did. I intended to replace it with a UMC-1 later, but with the bugs, etc., I just kept my 885. I really liked the look of the UMC-1, XPA-5 and UPA-2 in a rack together, but the cosmetics of the ATI are a little more like the Onkyo (it's a dark, black box, basically). Since I've decided against the UMC-1 (and probably the XMC-1 as well) the cosmetics don't matter. Emo's blue sure is cool looking, though.

I can't tell any difference in sound between the Emo's and the ATI. I just got a good deal on the ATI single-box solution, the rear channels are xlr and 200wpc vs 125, and it frees up some rack space for me.

It seems that my price may be a little high based on feedback, but the new price is $899 for the XPA-5 and they are out of stock. I did my research first, but I guess prices are a little depressed after Christmas. Good time to buy, bad time to sell. I can adjust a little for someone who is interested.
