Adcom 545 (not the mk ii)

Been using this as my surround amp since late last year, I would say a solid 8.5 out of 10 condition. This amp has never been pushed hard in my system. (about as demanding as surrounds would be). I was tinkering around with my stuff and found that running my surrounds from my AVR yeilds about the same results so I figured I would sell this and use the funds for other stuff. ANYWAYS...$140.00 plus shipping....It would be safe to say $30 to $40 shipping to most locations. As with anything Ive shipped this will be packed to survive the trip. If there is any serious interest I will post pics. Thanks.

    Freddy, if you would stop spending so much money on your ride and concentrate on the more important things (audio)..this fine amp could have been yours! :tongue:

    Due to circumstances beyond Skip's control he wasnt able to purchase the amp...so yep its back up for sale. :) Whoever was the next inline ill PM.

    Thanks to Knucklehead for a great deal! Already own some Adcom pieces and am a fan of the earlier stuff so this will be a nice addition! Probably drive some LSI bookshelves or SDA-2Bs with it.

    Sorry to hear that DSkip. But I will report back as I plan to use it on LSI-7s and SDA-2Bs...for now I will probably just run the Adcom off an HK receiver until I decide on whether to upgrade to a pre for this. There's also a NAD integrated I could use for that? If you're running yours off an HK as well. It might be interesting to note the difference when the Adcom is used as the power and the HK as the pre?

    That was a GREAT price on those LSI....I paid a bit more, but they are quickly becoming one of my favorite smaller bookshelves. They sound good even on 4 ohm capable receivers and even better with a power amp. They are also fairly 'forgiving' of sources. Which I REALLY like as I don't happen to have a 3000 dollar or more CDP or 3-5000 for TT rigs lying around! lol

    I understand the expense thing. But investments in a house are important and will last for years. We've been in our house for 11 years (we actually OWN it now!). When we moved in we had to redo the wood floors. Put in new carpeting upstairs. Eventually we knocked down a wall to increase a space for the HT? Then we redid one of the bathrooms before we left the country. 6 grand for a 7 X 9 X 8' bathroom?

    Probably need a new ROOF soon? More efficient Furnace--I use 1500 gallons of heating oil a year. At current prices...that's almost like paying RENT to live in a house you OWN!
