I know i've seen this info on this site but can't find it now, just waaaay to many threads coming up in search when you type SR lol

1. SR tweeters - on or off axis?
2. Can someone post a link to tweets on Parts Express that apparantly are the same exact tweets as SR but under a different name and much cheaper?

    1) They are best kept on axis I believe. Point at the opposite seats headrest. So drivers side tweet is aimed at passenger side headrest.
    2) They are vifa tweeters, not sure which model.

The Vifa small ring radiators on Madisound are very similar and go for $30 I believe. They're a good substitute should one of your SR tweets crap out since they dont make 'em anymore.

The LPG aluminum neos on Madisound work great with the SR mids too. You might have to tune on them some but they sound really good.

And yes, tweeters pretty much always work better on axis. Not dead on cause the drivers side tweet will be like a laser. Opposite head rest is generally the best.

In the big picture of things i'm more interested in how/where amps/x-overs/speakers are mounted then how good they are covered and if install is a good enought for a show. Don't get me wrong, i love "show" installs but interested in "raw" as much as "show".

    In that case

Nothing fancy at all going on here but it's my current setup. I need to rip everything out and fabricate an amp rack while hiding them at the same time (I want to have a shelf above the amps for trunk space).

Sounds like what you want is some like this. It's my temporary rack just to get my trunk space back, when snow melts and it gets warmer outside it'll be much smaller in size (thus more trunk space) but same basic idea + ventilation + leds + plexiglass.

    Something like that.

My amps are pretty big and using thick power/ground cables make it hard to fit them in tight spots due to the required bends.

I had my SR crossover's mounted on a board underneath the driver/passenger seats but right now I'm running active (crossovers still there but disconnected).

Yeah those PA's are monstrous. When I had my Accord I had to basically lay them across the bottom of the trunk and build a false floor for them so I could still keep my spare tire. It killed storage space and the wife constantly bitched.

This time with my Edge, I had to not take up any extra room cause this is our family ride that we take on trips. So I simply mounted the amps and processor under the back seat.

Next year we're trading in the Edge and getting 2 new cars so I'll get something like a Civic and I'm going to finally be able to build a competition system that doesn't have to be built aroumd groceries and strollers.

I really want a Honda Element. Those are great stereo platforms cause theyre so open inside but narrow enough that pathlengths are close and everything is flat inside. Problem is theyre kinda girly. LOL

Dude, there is no question. I was driving an $18,000 Honda Accord and it felt like a tank compared to my $30,000 Ford Edge. All the trim panels fit together like they were put together by eye surgeons. the Edge has gaps you can stick your finger between. The drivetrain feels clunky and unrefined.

Ford has the best looking lineup of vechicles without a doubt but the overall quality and feel of a Honda or Toyota is so much more preferable to me anyways.
