I posted these in McLoki's original thread, but felt it was more appropriate for this section, so I'm posting up these pics here for you modders to appreciate.

It was a piece of cake to do. 5 min w/ a butter knife got the sides off. The only "hard" part was peeling the tape off, but even that was easy... Just made my gf do it

They're nekkid! Haha. I don't want the wood siding. I love the way they look now. They are gloss bl k behind the wood panels, so I don't have to refinish them. I honestly did it because I'd like to throw them in my HT as rear surrounds and they will match perfectly. Then I can set my FXs to a side surround, where they belong. When I make that move, I'll most likely put LSi9s in my 2ch.

Haha no that's the black double sided tape that holds the wood on the speaker!

    looks great. Congrats.

I would not change mine back at all. (although I do still have the sides for some reason)

Now, get to work on the crossovers.... :)

    Michael

BTW - only attempt this mod if you have the original version of the LSi's. If you have the later version, the sides are held on with glue and are not removable.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

Oh you can count on x-over redos  Just imagine a 7.1 LSi system with Clarity Cap ESAs and Duelands all around... It's going to be magical.
