Spending Money......

This past week, I've bought a HTM MX-700 remote for my system, a King Cobra SS 350 9* Titanium Driver, Driver Head Cover, some shelving units, and a unit that I *may* use as my component rack.

Overall, for what I *could* have spent had I purchased it all retail and what I actually spent, I came out only spending 51% of the totals. Not bad if I do say so myself......

    Brett,
looks like you are getting ready for to upgrade your 307 to 507, hence the remote. Have you download SR10.1 software to program it? cool stuff!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I have actually decided to hold off for a while on the 507 upgrade. For what I listen to/watch, I don't believe that I'd be seeing *that *big of a difference(dont' need all the different formats for watching a DVD). I have been wanting to do something about the multiple remotes, but ultimately decided against the 500 because of some of it's limitations, and also that I really liked you could computer program the 700 and just download it to the remote. I haven't actually got the remote quite yet, but going through the software really quick, there's a LOT to try and figure out with that thing. I dunno if i can download the 10.1 software into the MX-700 or not. That would simplifiy everything with regard to that selection on the remote.....

Ok......I didn't include anything for the component rack because ultimately, it's a concept fixture from one of our stores and I'm getting it for free. The only problem is whether or not it's going to look right in my place. We'll see......

    MX-700 $193 shipped
    Cobra Driver $175 shipped
Head Cover $14 (this one was weird.....if you buy it new as a wrapped head cover, it would have been $25.....this one was brand new sitting in a cabinet as an extra)

Retail of the above 3 would be about (after taxes) $375, $325, and $30.

The MX-700 was from Ebay, which HTM won't warranty, but the company I bought from offers a 1 year warranty to supplement it. I'm comfortable with that decision. The driver is brand new and hasn't ever been hit. The grip still has wrapping on it I believe. For anyone looking for a driver, i would DEFINITELY recommend going and hitting this club.

    $373 vs. $730 is a good thing........ :-)

    Brett,

You are going to love the new Cobra driver; its the same one I have 350 cc 9 degree. HUGE sweet spot and forgiving. Every time I play golf it seems like I'm hitting the longest drive I ever hit on some holes at the club. I love it so much I got the 3 and 5 fairway woods too. Used to never be able to hit fairway woods. These are so much easier to hit than the Callaway Steelheads I was playing with. About three weeks ago I hit a three wood 230 yards to an elevated green on a par five on my second shot. Awesome (career shot for me too!)

    Where did you buy? golfdiscount.com?

I'm looking to get a new set of irons. Most likely a set of Callaway X-14s. I'm supposed to hit them Sunday. I should be able to get them for around $375. The guy has only had them a month or so but he wants to be like Tiger and get a set of new Nike irons. It's time to put the Tour Editions out to pasture after about 11 years. I hit some Ping i3s, some Callaway X-16s and some Taylor Made R.A.C.s on the range and really like the feel of the the X-14s the best.

I've got a knock of 5 wood in my bag that I got for free with a $50 gift certificate that I hit better than any club I own. 3/4 swing for 190 -200 yds. Full swing for 225. I don't even carry a 3 wood anymore and I almost always hit this one well.

I bought it from a guy that just has it. I don't know if he's associated with a company or not to be honest with you. I have a Titleist Howitzer right now that I've been using for the past 5 or 6 years and I really like, but the shaft at the hozzle has been cracked for probably going on 2 years.

My dad has this driver and I hit the hell out of it. I'm a long driver to start, but the control that I had with it, as compared to that of the damaged shaft driver, was most satisfying. I'd say that I'm driving average 300-330 yards.

:D The only problem with the driving is that it'snot always 300-330 yards and on the fairway with my current driver........Though with that new driver I hit it a lot more consistant. I'm lookin forward to gettin it and playin more. This has absolutely nothing to do with performance, but it's probably one of the sweetest looking drivers that I've seen. The paint is pretty hot....

Come on now Brett, the PGA tour average is only about 280. BTW, I heard the B&K might be in some financial trouble and be bought out.

My longest drive is 387(landed). While on the tee, totally lost sight of the ball until it made a big PUFF in the sand bunker on the far left side of the green while the other group was putting out.

It was up in Utah, where you're going to get more flight out of the ball due to the lighter air, but there wasn't any backwind at all. It's those great shots that keep ya goin back.......

Well, I just got the MX-700 remote a few minutes ago. Later tonight when I want to take the 3 hours to program everything, I'll sit down and do that.

The Golf Club seems to be an interesting deal. The guy got spooked because I filed a complaint with PayPal due to the time delay in his responses after payment was made. Hopefully we'll get it worked out and I'll have it by mid-week. I just got pretty concerned because, as a buyer, the last time that you want to see communications dry up is as soon as you've made a payment........
