This is a good warning to those in the US who are thinking of trying the same thing. Public backlash will be enormous.

Unfortunately, the decision has not been reversed (yet). Clement (our industry blah blah minister) asked CRTC to "go back to the drawing table". Knowing that Clement is a fan of big-box monopolies, I really doubt there will be big changes to the proposal. FYI, he is the guy who squashed CRTC's initiative to allow indie ISPs (resellers) to provide DSL with up to 30 Mbps speed. Now we have Bell and Robbers (I mean Rogers, sorry) offer 30 Mbps services, and indies are throttled down to 5 Mbps. Keep people signing the petition and support the effort.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

Ok, someone can not take a joke. Typical educated response! Oh the drama! -

Why you gotta go changing stuff after I quote it?
Besides, I do do it on purpose. Two reasons. 1.) It gets Canada all riled up and Canadians are funny when they are "mad". 2.) It's more satire on the idea that so many, even here in the U.S. know so little about Canada, it's people and it's culture. Like Canada is some kind of gigantic amusement park. (i.e.: Canadialand)
Then again, it's not just about Canada either. Most of the rest of the world thinks they know everything about the U.S. here but they really don't know half of what they think they do and that's being generous at that. Same goes for pretty much every other country.
Except Luxembourg. Those guys are weirdos!
I find the stereotypes and generalizations hilarious because they are such caricatures of the true image that I can't believe people of reasonable intelligence can or do believe them.
Then again, maybe that's my first mistake, believing in "reasonable intelligence".Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Not sure what you mean by me changing your quote. You put a quote about the CRTC rulling, and then someone puts a near identical quote right after yours. You then make another post saying that you already posted that info.
I make a joke about no one caring what you have to say and you go off about Canada.
Your topic about the USA could turn into a whole new thread but I fear it would turn to pointing fingers and such like the Emotiva thread did!
I love Canada, as I would suspect you love your country. In most of your posts about Canada you are always poking fun or name calling.
I am not sure how you think this is acceptable (of course unless you are truly joking) If I was anti-American on this site I am sure I would be banned or at the very least people would get their backs up and start defending the USA.
I doubt we would agree on this subject of our Countries, and I do not think that the Polk Forums is the place to discuss our differences.
Have a great day and if you ever visit Ontario, Canada, look me up (Greg Fonger) and I will buy you a beer and we can talk. Maybe both our eyes would be opened a little bit more. -

I see, I did not know you had posted it as I edited it. I understand what you mean now. It was not intended to be like that and I did not know you had even responded. Sorry about that. -
We have a 95gb cap a month. To date I have only come close at 91. I am not worried. Way back in the day we had unlimited with bell, mind you a max speed of 5 mb. I prefer having 15 for speed and capped at 95 gigs. This article doesn't say that most people are already on a plan similar to mine. I'm not surprised, that is media!
If it will be the way CRTC wants, you'll be capped at 25GB/month and ~$2/GB after that. It will be cheaper to buy SSD drives and transfer data with those than over internet.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies
