We had some posts on this the other day that really helped me.

I bought the Roku HD unit and really like it....has worked great with Netflix.

I thought I read, however, that Netflix was not streaming video in HD..am I wrong about this...one review said that Netflix said that they might in the future...and that the Roku HDMI was overkill for now...

do I have this wrong?

Not all the Netflix Instant queue movies are in HD. You have to look for the ones that are, and then you will see the four dots with an "HD" after it.

I think I know the thread you're referencing and I was confused by what the poster was saying as well. Like Doug said, there are quite a few titles that stream in HD (they have an HD logo next to them in your queue) so I think hooking the unit up via HDMI is the best solution.
