The original 360 can send 1080p via component quite nicely, and that was actually how I ran mine for a long time. But once I went all HDMI, there is definitely a noticeable difference in quality. Still, you should be good with that length of component cable.

I actually sold off my OG 360 to get one of the HDMI ones, and it was totally worth it, quality wise.

I had the old xbox and it did not have hdmi so I put component through the avr and ran hdmi to the pj

I have the component cable for xbox from monoprice and its horrible and very noisy.....I would not buy it.

On a defensive note ...I just bought six hdmi cables ,one of em 30ft and a 30 ft fiber optic cable and 30 ft internet cord all for $50 from monoprice

S-video doesn't support HD resolutions. Component is probably your best bet for now. But if you're running wire for this project, I strongly recommend that you do wall plates and wiring in anticipation of going all-HDMI at a later date, when you can afford to upgrade your AVR. You may not think you're going to any time soon... but then, I thought the same thing, and one look at my signature should tell you how long that lasted.

Yeah, rightnow my plan is to run one hdmi cable to the Projector, along with the componant cable. I am useing optical audio cable from all of my componants into my reciever/ and i plan to use a hdmi switcher for now.

I have all of the optical audio cables so all i need is the hdmi switcher, which i can get from monoprice with a remote so i can program to my future harmony 900 :)

Thats the plan, and this way i already have hdmi inplace for a new reciever.

Jaritta - Did you ever get your original question resolved? Where did you decide to mount the PJ (ceiling or rear wall)? I couldn't see the pics you referenced for some reason. The only suggestion I would have is to NOT overcomplicate this. Basically, lens shift or not, figure where you might mount the projector and screen and run a string from where the lens of the PJ will be to be to the top and bottom of the screen. Anything within the strings (head, flying screaming Woot monkey, startled cat) will block the image! Simple as that (the light can't bend in the air!) So, if your framing around the ductwork hits the string, you either have to move the PJ or screen down until it misses!

Also, for the cables, +1,000,000 on Monoprice! Their cables are thick as **** and are on par with cables 'others' charge 10x for. Have no fear running a 25' HDMI or Component cable of theirs!

    Good luck with the install!
