Need a phono stage?

I auditioned a Pyle phono preamp today.
If I told you how good I thought it was you'd call me a crack pot. It's available at part express among other places I'm sure and get this, it's ... less than twenty bucks. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. It comes with a little tiny wall wart power supply and in spite of that fact, it's dead silent. I scoped the output and found a 60 Hz ripple with less than a 1mv pp amplitude. Seriously. The power from the wall wart is clean and I suppose that's how. I'm tempted to bust it open to see how it's designed.
Seriously, it sounds almost as good as my CJ.

I have this one and it sounds much better than it should.
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=245-876Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

That looks interesting too.
They use electrolytics for coupling caps in the Pyle. I'm tempted to swap them out with some Illinois Electric polypropylene and see if it might bring the bass forward a little; that being only shortcoming worth mentioning. I opened the box and there just might be enough room. The world is full of answers, some are right and some are wrong. - Neil Young
